How To Enable orDisable Google InstantSearch

Google as we know is most
widely used search engine as of
today. Recently they introduced
Instant search feature for their
Search Engine wherein results
are display instantly. Somehow
some people didn’t like that
feature due to some reason or
other.
What is Instant Search
In instant search, as soon as the
user type the search inquiry in
the input box, immediately the
search results are shown.
Normally search results are
shown after the user clicks the
Google Search button below (or
alongside) the query box. Please
refer to the picture below:
As one can see in the picture
above, that user is still typing the
query but search results are
display at the same time.
Autosuggestion is also
happening side by side.
What Google has to say
about this feature
As per Google this feature is
quite beneficial for the users.
They say that as you type you
see the search results giving real
time feedback to modify/alter
your search on to go. This save
time, as evident from the figure
below (courtesy Google):
Here’s how to turn it off
(or on) Google Instant
Search
Open Google home page
( www.google.com). Below
shown page shall be displayed:
Hover the mouse over the
Options icon (as in above
picture) and press left click.
Below shown menu shall be
displayed:
Click Search settings. A new
Preferences window will be
shown.
Select “Use Google Instant” or
“Do not use Google Instant” as
per desire.
Once required option is selected,
scroll down and press Save
Preferences.
Make sure your browser
cookies are enabled
One important thing to
remember is that Google saves in
(and fetches) the Google Instant
setting from your browser
cookies, so make sure cookies
are enabled otherwise these
settings will not work next time
you visit Google.
