Motorola ATRIX 2 review
Hands: Motorola Atrix Review 2
The original Motorola ATRIX smartphone was a strong unit, which doubled as a laptop or a pseudo AV center - you can connect to an HDTV in your living room or the LCD screen on your desktop and run a variant of Linux with full keyboard and mouse.
The Atrix 2 adds a few changes, and is a powerful phone that falls into the same league as the Samsung S2 Galaxy.
One of these new twists on an 8-megapixel camera, comes standard with Android models. We decided to put this camera through some tests to date seriously, knowing that it is a significant improvement on the phone Atrix original, which was a 5MP camera.
First, an overview of the new model. The Atrix two games with the specifications of the original Atrix - we're a little disappointed to be honest, we would have liked to see more of an update.
Both phones have a 1GHz dual-core processor, which makes Motorola announced at the start of the first phone with a striking splash screen that announces dual-core chips.
Most phones now offer this option, which handles certain processing tasks faster because both cores simultaneously handle requests OS (say, to keep downloading an app, while making the browser).
Both phones use Android, although both Atrix Android 2.3 now comes with Gingerbread. This means that the most accurate text input, and we find the two Atrix will allow us to copy and paste text more easily. Fortunately, the release of Android 2.3 also lets you select the camera to use (in or out, something strangely absent in the original mechanism).
Both ATRIX has 8 GB of internal memory. The back cover, which is very easily removed, revealing a slot for a microSD card - we came with a 2GB card, but you can increase this up to 32 GB. As ATRIX ATRIX comes with a 2 GB of RAM.
The 4.3 inch screen on the ATRIX 2 is also a bump against ATRIX is a 4-inch screen. While both phones pumped an impressive 960 × 540 pixels, exactly a quarter of the full 1080p resolution on an HDTV, they ATRIX 2 does not use sub-pixel technology Pentile improved (supposedly) makes photos and videos look a little sharper. The reality is both phone screens on the same thing.
Another similarity: both Atrix Atrix, and 2 uses the AT & T HSPA + network in the "4G Light" U.S. connections up to about 21Mbps, which tends to work much less than that. We tested, Atrix 2 connected to an average of only about 6 Mbps for several days, speedtests broadband.
Both phones have a camera on the front, and examines the extent to which it has throughout our two check Atrix which includes a series of two sessions of Google Talk Android phones.
There are plenty of accessories for this phone - almost too many to count. There is a dock can be used for charging and connecting to an HDTV or LCD screen. There are car frames to use the GPS device as principal.
And there are countless battery chargers, extra cables, and even dock a laptop with a keyboard and screen, redesigned for ATRIX seconds
Suffice it to say, Atris 2 is not a significant upgrade from the original. In fact, it is one of the downgrade. Atrix, provided that the original security features place the finger on the screen to unlock the phone, which was removed from the launch Atrix 2
The most important finding that we had, however, is that the Atrix two really does not fulfill the promise that Atrix Motorola announced the device at CES earlier this year. That is, it would be a webtop device you can use with a laptop or the base with any TV or monitor.
We were eager to work - a smart phone is powerful enough for your mobile device and store all your data, providing an experience for the desktop and webtop computer at home?
But the reality is that ATRIX 2 is not yet fast enough for this to work. The webtop is still too slow for anything other than basic web browsing or checking your e-mails and even scan photos. There is a pause weird when you move the mouse or typing on a keyboard, there is a form of hold-ATRIX more - we would expect Motorola to sort for the new version.
ATRIX Camera 2
About the new 8MP camera: Surprisingly good. We often complain of poor image quality of cameras tablets but ATRIX camera 2 is better than what you find in many handheld digital cameras.
You can shoot wide-screen 6 megapixel images, or shots 8MP normal relationship. Camera settings, you can shoot 1080p video. Check out samples of how clear and smooth hub.
Atrix 2 is one of the best Android phones around, but it is the best? We have yet to run some speed tests and compare the pictures and videos on a variety of other models, such as the Samsung S2, which will see the full Motorola Atrix 2 again.
There is a rumor on the horizon, and the sound of the Galaxy Samsung Nexus, a 1.2 GHz phone comes with a chip near-field communications to facilitate retail purchases. This phone comes with the new version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich improvement with an investigation of intelligent user interface.
What is really missing Atrix 2, but at least in the U.S. buyers of LTE. This is faster than the standard 4G is a real-world speeds of about 12 Mbps - takes a few minutes to download the full Hollywood movies on the fly. And 'one of the killers.
The second is the screen. We love ATRIX TFT 2 is because it is bright and clear, but losing ATRIX in a side by side comparison with the Samsung Epic Touch 4G and S2 with their AMOLED displays. The negative consequences brought ATRIX 2 a few steps behind the leading Android models.
But ATRIX 2 is a leader in price. It costs only $ 99 with a two-year contract. Webtop connection 8MP camera and optional accessories are one of the top Android phones around - although we can not help but think that users will be affected by the Motorola Razr much more aesthetic.
