iOS 5 Released
Posted on Friday, October 14, 2011 by android apps market for tablests
The most awaited software update for the Apple devices has finally been released on Wednesday, 12th October 2011. Not only me but a lot of iDevice owners were eagerly waiting for the release of iOS 5. I just finished updating my iPhone 4′s OS to iOS 5 and I am already in love with it. If you haven’t updated your operating system yet then you should do it right now.

iOS 5 comes with almost 200 new features including iMessage, wireless syncing, newnotification center, newstand, iCloud and much more. For updating to iOS 5 users must installiTunes 10.5 which was released earlier this week. The list of compatible devices include iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, iPod Touch (4th Generation), iPod Touch (3rd Generation). This is a major software update and can take a couple of hours for users having an internet connection with a speed a of 1mbps. But from this point of time, users won’t need to connect their iDevices to iTunes cause the device will automatically sync itself whenever it is connected to the same network as the laptop/pc you use for syncing your device.
iOS 5 New Features -
Not one, two or three but almost 200 new features are introduced in iOS 5. Here is a list of the features that I personally find interesting -
iMessage - iMessage is a service which is similar to BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), it lets you send text messages, photos, videos, locations and contacts between iDevices (when connected to Wi-fi or 3G) and also give you delivery report and read reports for the sent messages.
Wireless Syncing - Tired of connecting your iDevice to your PC for syncing? Now you don’t have to worry about connecting your iPhone/iPod/iPad to your PC or laptop for synchronizing. With the all new iOS 5, syncing is made easy and is done automatically that too without even connecting your PC and your iDevice. It automatically synchronizes your device when it is connected to a power source and to the same network as your PC/laptop.
Camera - There are times when you actually want to capture something really quick but you often miss it cause it takes a couple of seconds to unlock the device. Now you can capture all those unexpected moments quickly cause the iOS 5 gives you an opportunity to access the camera application from the locked screen itself.
Notification Center - Now you can check all your notifications at one place, swipe from the top of the screen to enter the notification center where you can see new text messages, email, friend requests and more.
Twitter Integration - Twitter integration makes it easy for you to tweet and to share pictures with your twitter friends. You can tweet a picture from the photo gallery itself and you can add a location to your tweets too.
Reminders - Now you can set location based reminders, just in case you have to check a client’s file as soon as you reach your office, set it as a location based reminder and your iDevice will remind you to check that file when you go to your office next time.
… and a lot more. So if you haven’t updated to iOS 5 yet then you should do it whenever you connect your apple device to your PC/laptop next time.
