How to Fix iPhone Error 1002

While I was travelling for my way back to home from office, I tried to start my navigation apps on my iPhone and to my horror; it turned off suddenly with some weird message like it cannot find the IMEI and some code number. Very strange thing to happen since the day I purchased my iPhone. I decided to reach home and fix the problem, if at all I can! After reaching home, I tried to turn it on, and the screen flashed with a message that read to plug in my iPhone into iTunes to get away with the issue.
I tried to act as per the message, but it hung without letting me type anything. Finally, I gave up and decided to keep it in recovery mode and re-install the software. I downloaded the files required for the installation and it even started to get installed, but at the interim of the process, it showed me an error message that read “failed to install – Error 1002″.

The Problem – Error 1002

I went all clueless regarding the error 1002, and got baffled as to how will I solve it? Then I decided to search on the official website of Apple to find out if there are solutions suggested regarding this error and found this piece of information.
This error is connected to the hardware failure of the device. It is even considered to be very difficult to solve. Error 1002 is a sort of baseband error which means that the software is corrupted and there is a need to switch on latest software available or the baseband hardware is gone! Infact there is a little IC chip inside the phone that might need to be replaced and restore. This error is not user’s faulty way of handling the iPhone but is completely manufacturer’s fault.

The Solution for iPhone Error 1002

These are few steps I found to recover from this error.
  • Turn off your iPhone
  • Launch iTunes thereafter.
  • Hold the home button for little time and reconnect iPhone USB to your PC.
  • iPhone must then mount iPhone after detecting your phone in a recovery mode.
  • It will then re-install the entire system and in case the issue still remains, try re-installing the IOS through some other computer.
