Apple’s Reputation Of Only Using One Source To Promote Their Goods Damaging Or Helping

Apple and windows based computers were both great products when they first came out. People without any computer experience could quickly and easily jump onto either one of these systems and use them without much training. Sadly, Apple just didn’t have as much success as the Windows systems did. In fact, the Mac eventually ended up catering to a much smaller niche.
You’ll find that many Mac users didn’t switch from Windows until they had some serious problem with their system. The great sales for Windows products and the less than stellar sales for the Mac didn’t just occur naturally.
There was a definite reason that this happened The reason so many more computers were sold with windows is that Microsoft was smart enough to take advantage of all of the other computer makers on the market. The leveraging of IBM as well as the other large computer makers was an ingenious move that Apple should have tried to counter, but didn’t. Because of this, Windows gained huge amounts of market share while Apple just continued to exist. Since there were lots of folks making use of Windows and few using a Mac, there were lots of programs created for Windows, but not nearly as many for the Mac. This lead to even more people wanting to buy Windows over a Mac.
I’ll agree that there are many switch to Mac , but the fact is that most people haven’t. This was not an issue for some of Apple’s other items. The Ipod has been a great success and this is despite the fact that there are so many other mp3 players to choose from. I’ve even read that Bill Gate’s wife wants an Ipod over the Zune her Bill makes her use.
For quite a while, it seemed that the Iphone and the Ipad would completely dominate their industry as well. These products were really the first in their class in terms of widespread acceptance. The alternative to the first Iphone was basically just a standard phone. These days however, there are many other smart phones one can get. This is because people like Google have made their Android platforms available to other companies like HTC and Samsung. As a result, you might be deciding between 4 different phones and 3 of them run off of Android. It should be interesting to see if Apple can hold onto its market share with those kinds of odds against them.
The same thing has recently happened with the Ipad. When the Ipad first came out, it popularized tablets. Tablets have been around for awhile, but they just didn’t have the widespread appeal that they have now. This is because of the fantastic marketing and user friendly approach that Apple takes to its products. Learning Mac New is incredibly easy for most people.
However, products like the Kindle Fire as well as Samsung, Asus, and Acer tablets are quickly soaking up some of the market share. These products all run off of the Android platform, so Google is really seeing a large distribution of its product. It should be noted, that the Ipad is still outselling every one of these products, but can it continue to do so with so much competition?
