iPhone Firmware Update

With the iOs 5 coming soon for iPhone, iPod and iPad with around 200 new features you might want to update your iDevice’s Firmware. Well i am going to help you with that. Updating your iDevice’s Firmware is very easy and simple. All you need is your iDevice, Data Cable and a PC with an internet connection.
1. Firstly, download and install the latest version of  iTunes on to your PC.
2. Connect your iPhone via Data cable to your PC.
When you connect you iPhone, windows starts installing the Driver Software, when the software is installed a pop up window appears asking you what you want to do with it.
3. Open iTunes on your PC. It will automatically show up iTunes in the Devices list. On selecting iPhone, a pop up appears telling you if you want to update your iPhone. The pop up appears only when an update is available.
If the pop up does not appear you can manually check whether an update is available for your iDevice or not, by simply clicking update option in the summary pane of iPhone menu on itunes.
4. If the update is available the pop up will show 3 options:
Download and install update.
Download only.
Update later.
In download and install, iPhone needs to be connected all the time till iTunes download the latest firmware and installs in on your iPhone.
In download only, iTunes only downloads the firmware which can be installed later on.
5. When an update starts it, automatically asks you to back up your content.

If you are having a jailbroken iDevice, updating will remove the jailbreak so remember to check first whether a jailbreak is available for the update or not.
At the moment the latest iOS is 4.3.3 and iOS 5 is yet to be launched.
