Samsung Wave 723 Review

Germany will soon be able to say hello to the Samsung Wave 723, the newest model of the smartphone built on Samsung's open Bada platform. Samsung will release the Wave 723, also known as GT-S7230E, in Germany in September, and then it will gradually release it to other countries in Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

The Wave 723's specs include a 3.2-inch WQVGA TFT-LCD screen, a 5.0 megapixel camera, 3G and 802.11 Wi-Fi support, and QVGA video recording and playback that includes support for H.264 HD video.

Of course, the phone has Samsung's TouchWhiz 3.0 interface, and it has Bluetooth connectivity, a music player, an app store, and the Dolphin Browser 2.0--which has gained popularity as a third-party browser for Android phones. The Wave 723 will also include assisted GPS and a microSD card slot that supports up to 16GB of external memory.

We got a glimpse of the first Samsung Wave in February at Mobile World Congress, while we got our hands on the Samsung Wave GT-S8500 in June. That model impressed us with its 3.3-inch Super AMOLED screen and 1GHz processor. Samsung didn't share any pricing information with us, but with its more modest screen technology, this model may prove to be more budget-friendly.
